Neuro-Movement Correction
New at B’Bros 2: Neuro-Movement Correction & Movement Therapy – For Greater Freedom of Movement
Movement Therapist & Coach
“I’ve been working with people as a coach for more than 15 years, and in recent years I’ve also been helping clients as a movement therapist.
My experience as a coach led me to sports rehabilitation and, from there, to neuro-movement correction, neuro-training and biomechanics.
I continuously develop my knowledge because I believe the body should be understood as an interconnected system rather than as a collection of isolated parts.
My goal isn’t simply to make a particular movement hurt less. I want to understand why the problem developed in the first place and how we can restore the most natural and unrestricted movement possible.
- So your lower back doesn’t seize up after a simple household chore.
- So after a long walk, you’re thinking about where you want to go next – not about foot or heel pain.
- So training is about getting stronger and progressing, not dealing with yet another injury.
And my long-term goal goes even further: to help you live an active, independent and healthy life well into older age – both physically and mentally.”
The Nervous System and Movement
Good movement starts with the nervous system
Movement is about more than just muscles and joints. Behind every movement is the nervous system, constantly receiving information from both the environment and the body and using it to coordinate and control how we move. That’s why, during our work together, I also assess responses related to how the nervous system functions.
In certain cases, it can be useful to work on areas such as:
- balance and coordination,
- coordination between eye and head movements,
- body awareness,
- movement control and stability,
- reaction time,
- the relationship between concentration and movement,
- dizziness or a sense of unsteadiness associated with movement.
The goal of Neuro-Movement Correction is to assess how the nervous system organizes movement based on the information it receives, and to identify areas where correction or relearning may be beneficial.
Please note: Persistent, newly occurring, or unexplained dizziness, headaches, or changes in hearing or sense of smell require medical evaluation as a first step. Movement therapy does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.
When Can Movement Therapy Help?
When your body keeps sending signals
Recurring symptoms are often not caused by a problem at the exact place where you feel the pain. That’s why, alongside the symptoms themselves, it’s worth looking at the body’s movement system as a whole and how it functions.
Movement therapy may be helpful if you:
- experience recurring or persistent musculoskeletal pain,
- have lower back, back, neck or shoulder pain,
- experience sacral or pelvic issues,
- have pain in your feet, heels, knees or other joints,
- feel stiff or restricted in your movement,
- want to improve your posture,
- want to return to exercise safely after a previous injury,
- exercise regularly but experience recurring overuse or training-related problems.
The goal is always to look beyond the symptoms and understand the movement patterns and underlying connections that may have contributed to the problem.
Does this sound like you? Tell me a little about what you’re experiencing.
How We Work Together
We don’t look for quick fixes. We look for connections.
During your first session, we use a range of movement and nervous system tests to assess how your body functions. We look at how you move, what compensatory patterns your body uses, and where there may be factors contributing to the problem.
The main steps of the process are:
We assess your movement patterns, posture, joint mobility and nervous system responses.
We look for the areas that may be contributing to your symptoms or affecting the quality of your movement.
We use targeted exercises to work on nervous system and musculoskeletal function.
SWhere needed, we focus on improving joint positioning, stability and range of motion.
The goal is for your body to function better not only during the session, but also to use these new movement patterns in everyday life and during sports. You don’t just get a set of exercises – you also learn how your body works and why you are doing each exercise.
Who Can Benefit?
You don’t have to wait until something hurts
Movement therapy isn’t only for people who already have a specific problem or complaint. I recommend it to anyone who:
- wants to move without pain,
- wants to improve the quality of their movement,
- wants to train more consciously,
- wants to return to sport safely after an injury,
- wants to improve their performance,
- wants to better understand how their body works,
- considers prevention important,
- wants to stay active and independent in the long term.
The goal isn’t perfect movement. The goal is for your body to do what you want it to do – with greater freedom, confidence and, whenever possible, without pain.
